The e.control Webserver dialog Web turns everyday tools such as the PC or telephone into a virtual operating device. This opens up new perspectives, especially where conventional operating devices are difficult to accommodate, whether from an aesthetic point of view or for reasons of flexibility of use. Using web technologies such as HTML and XML, each user can individually perform all operating functions such as setting the target temperature, fan level, lighting, sun protection or windows using a web browser or IP-enabled telephone.

Suitable for rental units
dialog Web provides ideal conditions for buildings with several rental units, as the integration into the tenant’s LAN takes place via a separate Ethernet connection from the GA backbone, which also provides web-based administration access, with which each tenant can manage users, rooms and authorizations and adapt the layout to the corporate design.
Simple system integration
From the system integrator’s point of view, dialog Web is a device with a maximum of 150 virtual room control units that can be configured just as easily as any other e.control room control unit due to its static network interface – and even fully automatically in conjunction with the ALEX Design Suite. On the LON side, the server has its own Ethernet port with which it is integrated into the GA backbone. As is usual with spega, the entire functionality is parameterized via productive plug-ins that also allow offline work.
IP phones welcome
In addition to access via web browser, dialog Web also supports the integration of IP-enabled phones with XML support (e.g. Siemens OpenStage or Cisco Unified IP Phones) using additional licenses. A created web layout is automatically adapted to the display options of the telephone without any additional configuration effort.
Loves big buildings
Due to the possibility of operating several web servers as a server network, the number of virtual room control units and users is unlimited. The installation of more than 20 servers for more than 2,000 workstations at a German company proves the robustness and performance of the dialog Web server network. Since the administration is carried out via the master, it does not even differ from that of a single device.

Universal room control units
The e.control universal room control units form the ideal interface between the room user and the automation system. The uniform operating philosophy for all trades replaces the previous “island solutions” such as thermostats, light switches and blind switches. With their illuminated displays, the e.control room control units also show the user all essential statuses graphically and clearly.
Operate as you please
e.control does not prescribe any operating philosophy. Instead, the user can choose from three concepts:
Operation via keys: dialog 8, nova LCD
Operation with rotary pushbutton: dialogue 1
Touchscreen operation: tactio L/S
Each of the concepts is consistently and conclusively implemented, so that the user always has an overview. And because the functionality is identical on all devices despite different operating concepts, he can choose his preferred design freely and without restriction.

Full functionality on board
All 55 room operating units contain the full range of e.control functions for operating the room climate, lighting and sun protection as well as for evaluating presence and room climate control (see table). This means that the units can be used as control units for external room controllers such as clima DL-110 as well as full heating, cooling and air quality controllers in conjunction with actuator actuators of the R or M series. Lighting and sun protection are operated using switches or push-buttons from the desired switch range, which can be connected directly to the digital inputs of the room control unit.
